Guests are required to come into the kennel in a healthy state. If a
pet appears ill, the owner will be asked to seek a veterinarian's
assistance. We ask that all pets be on some type of health regime with
their veterinarian. Whatever your own vet recommends for vaccines, for
your particular dog is fine with us. Not all dogs can withstand the
yearly vaccine protocol.
Most kennels require the Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine. Here at
Country Paws, this vaccine is not required to board. We leave this
decision to vaccinate up to you and your veterinarian. If you do give
the vaccine, please give approximately 2 weeks before boarding.
PLEASE NOTE: Giving the vaccine does not guarantee your dog will not
get kennel cough. We do everything in our power to keep the kennel
clean and ventilated but kennel cough is highly contagious. Many dogs
come in and leave the kennel without symptoms, therefore we are not
aware that other dogs have even been exposed to the virus.
