Founded in 1996, Country Paws Boarding Kennel and Cattery, is owned and operated by Glenda Rutherford. A registered nurse in a trauma intensive care unit for 16 years, she is well able to deal with your pets special needs, such as giving medications. In 1995 Glenda left nursing to open Country Paws Kennel in St. Agatha, Ontario and has enjoyed every moment of caring for her beloved pet friends.

Glenda's sister, Carolyn Steele joined Country Paws in 1999, having retired from a long term training position at a major retail store. Both Carolyn and Glenda were raised to love all animals. Their diverse backgrounds and experience ensures that your pet will be ably cared for and loved during their stay at Country Paws.

Marsha Heyer joined the team in 2003 as a Co-op student from Waterloo-Oxford High School. She was a natural in the kennel from the first day. The dogs love to play and cuddle with Marsha. Marsha continued her education and became a qualified pet groomer and now offers our guests many grooming services.

Country Paws Kennel and Cattery is located on 16 acres of treed property just outside of St. Agatha. We have 2 kennel buildings to allow boarding for 30 dogs and 12 cats. The main kennel building houses the office, 8 indoor/outdoor runs for our small dogs, our cattery, grooming area and an indoor play area with couches, T.V. and V.C.R.

The second kennel building is equipped with indoor/outdoor runs for our large dog visitors. The kennel property is fenced including the four outdoor play areas.

As we are a small kennel, we recommend you make reservations as soon as you are aware of the need of our services. Space during holiday time is at a premium. Don't delay...book early.
